David Grossman officiated basketball in Connecticut from 1976 through 2011 as a member of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials New Haven Board #10, the Connecticut Board of Certified Basketball Officials Districts II and IV, and the Women's Intercollegiate Basketball Officials' Association.

Lynch, Kate

I cannot imagine my life without basketball in it!" says Kate Lynch. At LaSalle Academy in Rhode Island, Kate led her teams to three straight Division I State Basketball Championships and scored a whopping 1,340 career points. Kate was named First Team All-State twice and MVP of the Rhode Island State Championship Finals in 2003 and 2004.

In his thirty one year coaching career at New Fairfield High School, Joe Russo compiled a 392- 290 win/loss record. His teams qualified for the CIAC State Basketball Tournament 23 times, including 19 years in a row.

In her own words, Pat Meiser “has lived Title IX” – legislation enacted in 1972 to improve opportunities for women. Patricia Meiser currently serves as Director of Athletics and Special Assistant to the President at the University of Hartford. Pat earned her B.S. in Physical Education from West Chester, her M.Ed. in Sports’ Psychology and MBA from Penn State.

“Basketball was the springboard for my success in life,” says Chryssandra Watts. A forward/center at Bristol Eastern High School from 1980 through 1984, Chryssandra Watts averaged 15 points and 16 rebounds per game during her high school basketball career.

Gombotz, Jen

Jennifer Gombotz would like every young athlete to have a mother like hers. "Mom put things into perspective for me," says Jen. "Work hard, but always have fun!' she'd say." Jen's love of basketball began in third grade. By age eleven, she was playing AAU ball and traveling to Orlando, Florida for the National Tournament.

Vandermeer, Fran

Referee

Fran Vandermeer has this advice for referees: “Officiate with integrity!” A basketball, volleyball, and track and field athlete at Bulkeley High School in Hartford, Fran was named her high school's Senior Female Athlete of the Year in 1975. At Southern Connecticut State University, Fran played volleyball for four years and was team captain her senior year.

Sales, Nykesha

Most people know Nykesha Sales as a WNBA star, playing for the Connecticut Sun. Before that, however, there was Bloomfield High School and the University of Connecticut's Women's Basketball Team.
