DeLuca, Ann

High School Coach

In Ann DeLuca's sixteen years as coach of Notre Dame High School In Fairfield, her teams won over 240 games. DeLuca's players included AAU-American Mary Anne O'Connor of Southern Connecticut State University; All-Star Collegians Debbie Colson and Maria Magoulas, and High School All-Stater Cynthia Lewis.

Dacko, Marnie

After a very successful career at Trumbull High School, Marnie Dacko continued her education at Southern Connecticut State College. Dacko led the Owls to a 72-27 record, four top 10 fin-ishes and four trips to the AIAW national tournament as a player.

Camp, Kelly

(Posthumous Award)
Kelly Camp, a 5-foot-8 guard, was among the state’s first true impact players on the high school level in the mid-1970s.
Camp scored a record 1,329 points during her career at West Haven High School.

Moessmang, Virginia

For years at Branford High School, Virginia Moessmang was the entire girls’ sports program. She coached basketball at Branford High School for 34 years.

Malinowski, Cindy

High School Player

Cindy Malinowski led Westbrook High School to two CIAC Class S Championship titles and an undefeated 25-0 season before graduating in 1981. During her high school career, Malinowski scored a record 2,097 points, was a four-year All-Stater, a four-year member of the All-Shoreline Team and was named each of her four years the New Haven Tap-Off Club’s Outstanding High School Women’s Basketball Player.

O’Dwyer, Josephine

Josephine O’Dwyer was a pioneer in the sport of women’s basketball in Connecticut. O’Dwyer, who died in 1986, coached high school basketball from 1939 to 1955 when interscholastic com-petition for high school girls was virtually non-existent.

Lou Albrecht’s career as a basketball official spanned 23 years - from 1959 to 1982.

Rojcewicz, Sue

College Player

Sue Rojcewicz played for Southern Connecticut State College and Coach Louise O’Neal when SCSC was a national powerhouse team. A three-year starter for Southern, Rojcewicz averaged 14 points a game on teams that were ranked third in the nation in 1973 and 1974.
