Mudry, Jessica

High School Player
Jessica Mudry attended Naugatuck High School from 1989-1992. As the point guard under Coach Keith Raczkowski, Mudry helped guide her team to three Naugatuck Valley League Championships and was an All Naugatuck Valley League selection all four years. She is the all-time leading scorer for Naugatuck with 2,056 total career points.

Lobo, Rebecca

Rebecca Lobo, the 1991 Massachusetts State Scoring Champion (2,710 points), attended UConn from 1991-1995. She averaged 17 points and ten rebounds per game, eventually scoring a total of 2,033 points. She played a huge part in the team’s 1994 and 1995 Big East Titles, and its most memorable victory over Tennessee to win the 1995 National Championship.

Candido, Anthony

Tony Candido’s involvement in girls’ and women’s basketball in Connecticut transcends the basketball court. He retired from collegiate officiating in 2006 after 45 years and 3,000+ games. He worked the CIAC Girls’ High School Tournament since its origin and hasn’t missed a tourna-ment since.

Lopiano, Donna A.

Basketball Career - Donna Lopiano, CEO of the Women’s Sports Foundation, is credited with doing more for women’s sports in the United States than any other individual. She was named one of “The 10 Most Powerful Women in Sports” by Fox Sports and listed by The Sporting News as one of “The 100 Most Influential People in Sports.”

Hunt, April

April Hunt attended Foran High School in Milford where she played basketball, volleyball, and softball. She was a dominating center from 1973 – 1976 and in her senior year, helped lead Fo-ran to a 17 – 2 regular season record. Under the guidance of Coach Edna Fraser, Foran entered the Class L CIAC Tournament ranked fourth in a field of 22 teams.

Taylor, Charlene M.

Charlene Taylor played basketball at Beaver Falls (PA) High School, where she played point guard and averaged 15 points per game. In her senior year (1985), Taylor helped her team to a 25-1 record, and both the conference and state championship titles. Taylor was named the conference MVP, was a member of the “Terrific Twenty” (top twenty girl basketball players in Pennsylvania.)
