Dianne Nolan was destined to pursue a career in basketball. She was introduced to the game at an early age – her Mom was a very successful coach and her brother played for Temple University.
In January, 2006 Nolan became just the 28th coach in Division I women’s basketball history to record 500 career wins.
Nolan coached at St. Francis College in New York for five seasons before moving to Fairfield University. Nolan’s Fairfield teams have recorded 19 winning seasons, three MAAC Tourna-ment Championships, and qualified for the NCAA Tournament four times. Nolan was selected as the MAAC Coach of the Year five times and has been inducted into the Glassboro State College, St. Francis College, and Fairfield University Halls of Fame. She was also a member of the 1990 U.S. Olympic Festival Coaching Staff.
