Maloney, Dave
2005
High School Coach

Dave Maloney honed his coaching skills at the Branford Intermediate School where his boys’ and girls’ teams won 83% of their games. He then moved to Branford High School where the Lady Hornets won 154 games en route to capturing two Housatonic League and Class L State championships. His 1983 team was undefeated –winning 24 games -- and was eventually ranked #5 in Parade Magazine and #8 in the USA Today Poll.

Deeb, Judy

Referee

Judy Deeb developed an interest in basketball officiating during her freshman year at Southern CT State College when she was sent to referee junior high school games as part of a class. That interest developed into a passion and career which has lasted for 30 years.

Stiff, Carol J.

Honorary

Carol Stiff has a long affiliation with basketball. She was a three-sport athlete in high school before being recruited to play basketball at Southern CT State College. After her graduation, Stiff coached at the collegiate level.

Roze, Willie
2005
College Player

Willie Roze’s reputation as an outstanding athlete is legendary. She was a five-sport athlete at Hamden High School. She was an 8-time All-American and National Hall of Fame Inductee as a softball player for the world-famous Raybestos Brakettes Softball Team.

Nolan, Dianne
2005
College Coach

Dianne Nolan was destined to pursue a career in basketball. She was introduced to the game at an early age – her Mom was a very successful coach and her brother played for Temple University.

Strong, David
2004
High School Coach

Dave Strong began his career at Masuk High School in Monroe. He coached boys’ basketball and taught math. He began coaching girls in 1976 and his teams compiled an incredible list of accomplishments.

Gonyea, Tina
2004
High School Player

Although Tina Gonyea excelled in three sports at Platt High School in Meriden, basketball was her favorite. As a guard, Gonyea was an All-Conference selection her sophomore, junior and senior years, and was the team captain and a Hartford Courant All-State selection during both her junior and senior years.

Dufficy, Patricia
2004
High School Player

Pat Dufficy attended Trumbull High School and dominated the basketball court. As a guard for Coach Gail Shipp, she helped guide her team to several FCIAC League Titles, and in her senior year averaged 30 points and 7 rebounds per game. She scored 1,055 total career points and was named to both the FCIAC and All-State Teams.
