Porter Buttice, Patricia

High School Player

Trish Porter played high school basketball at RHAM High School in Hebron, CT from 1968-72. The team was 37-10 during the four years in which Porter started every game. Her career stats include 22.1points per game and 1,041 total points. Personal highs included 26 points during a regular season game and 32 points in a post season game.

Kolnaski Solar, Paulla

High School Coach

Paulla Kolnaski attended Fitch High School in Groton, CT during the Pre-Title IX era when opportunities to play basketball were extremely limited. After graduation in 1969, Kolnaski attended Southern Connecticut State College. She began teaching physical education and coaching girls’ basketball at Stonington High School. At that time, her only basketball experience was the 6-player game.

Donna Hebert attended Southern Connecticut State College, where she excelled in basketball, volleyball, and badminton and spent her summers pitching for the Raybestos Brakettes Softball Team.

Vassallo, Lucille

During her junior year at UConn, Lucille Vassallo received a National Basketball Officials’ Rating. For the next two decades, she refereed girls’ games at the high school and collegiate levels. She was involved in regular season games, championships, and a Class S Final.

Carolyn Vanacore, Mrs. ‘V’, as her students refer to her, is first and foremost, a mentor to young women. Her career path was greatly influenced by Louise Ives, a new, young, and energetic Physical Education teacher at Lyman Hall High School.

Toolan Constantine, BJ

College Player

BJ Toolan attended Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. During her playing years, BJ, a standout guard, averaged 13.2 points per game and scored 1,245 career points. During her senior year (94-95), Toolan scored 546 points, averaged 21.8 points per game, and made 85 three-pointers -- all Trinity season records.

Kulo Mathieu, Lori
2005
High School Player

Lori Kulo was a standout basketball player at Ellington High School. She played forward for Coach Ron Hansen from ‘79-’83. During those years, Ellington captured the North Central Connecticut Conference Title four years in a row and won the State Championship 3 out of those 4 seasons. Kulo was an integral part of those teams.
