Tricia Sacca came to Fairfield University after an outstanding career at Delran High School in New Jersey where she set a school record 1,711 career points.
At Fairfield, Sacca was a three-time All Metro-Atlantic Conference (MAAC) First Team Selection, two-time All MAAC Tournament team selection, and set a school record in points scored in a game with 35 versus Memphis State. Sacca is Fairfield University’s 5th leading scorer with 1,622 points, and the third in rebounding with 1,037. Her team won two MAAC Championships and subsequent automatic bids to “The Big Dance.” One of Sacca’s fondest memories as a college player was winning the 1991 MAAC Championship for the second time.
After graduation, Sacca returned to Fairfield as an Assistant Coach to Dianne Nolan. Four years later, in 1995, she was hired as the first full-time coach at Quinnipiac College. She has guided to the team for more than ten years -- from a Division II college to a Division I University which qualified for the NEC tournament during the past six seasons. In 2000, Sacca was named NEC Coach of the Year. Her 2005-2006 team set a school record with 22 Division I wins.
