Known as ‘Kregs” in her college days, Kathleen Regan graduated from Eastern Connecticut State College (ECSU) where she played both at the forward and center positions. Regan led her team to a four-year record of 71-22, and to a #1 Northeast Small College ranking. ECSU was the 1977 AIAW Northeast Champion and 1979 Connecticut Small College Champion.
As a charter member and first woman to be inducted into the ECSU Athletic Hall of Fame, Regan is recognized as that school’s first player to score over 1,000 points (1,283) and pull down over 800 career rebounds. In 1979, Regan was named Connecticut’s Small College Offensive Player-of-the-Year. In 1978, she was selected to the Small College All-Star team. Her single season record (1978-79) was 411 points for a 16.4 points per game scoring average. A scholar-athlete, Regan played in all 93 basketball games of her college career.
