Olah, June M.

High School Coach

Inducted

2003

June Olah coached the Weston High School Girls’ Basketball team for ten years. During that same time, she was also the Athletic Director and responsible for developing a girls’ sports program for the newly created high school.

From 1972-1976 Weston captured five consecutive league titles. The State Tournament format as we know it today did not exist at that time. Although a “small” school by population, Olah’s talented players competed in the Class M Division. Weston won Class M titles in 1974 and 1975. From 1973-1975, Weston was undefeated (41-0) and Olah’s teams established a high standard for future teams.

In 1974 June was honored for her 'Outstanding Professional Service' by the University of Bridgeport. In 1984, June was honored as 'Sportsperson of the Year' by the Sportsmen of Westport, for her tremendous efforts and accomplishments at Weston High School.
