In his nineteen-year career at Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU), Bob Miller’s overall record was 332-149 (69%). During his tenure, ECSU qualified for the AIAW regional tournament five times and the national tournament twice. They went to the ECAC Division III New England Tournament five times, and were champions in 1988-89. ECSU made six appearances in the NCAA Division III Tournament, twice making it to the Final Four.

Miller was honored as one of four nominees nationally from small colleges for Stayfree Coach of the Year in 1978, NEWBA Coach of the Year, and Converse Coach of the Year for Division III District I in 1990-91. He was co-founder and first president of the NEWBA-3, New England Women’s Basketball Association, and a founder of the Connecticut Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association.
