High School Player
Wendi Kemp had an outstanding basketball career at Cheshire High School. For three consecutive seasons, Kemp was named Cheshire’s most valuable player. She was selected for the 1981 and 1982 All-Housatonic League Team and Tap-Off Club’s All-County Team. She was also named the Tap-Off Club’s Scholar-Athlete. During the 1981-82 season, Kemp was named to the Converse All-American Team and was selected for the New Haven Register’s Class L All-State Team. She participated in post-season play in both the New Haven Shoot-Out and the School Boy Classic.
