Robin Gaby was a three-sport athlete at RHAM High school in Hebron where she scored 1,379 points and averaged 19 points per game during her four-year basketball career. In her senior year, Gaby was named to the All-State Team for her per-game average of 23 points, 14 assists, and 6 steals. She was a two-time All Charter Oak Conference Player and a First-Team selection by the Jackson Newspapers and the C.H.S.C.A.

Gaby was the first player to score 1,000 points in three years at Eastern Connecticut State University (1987-90). She averaged 14 points per game and amassed a total of 1,114 total points with 105 steals. In 1987, Gaby was named ECAC Rookie of the Year, and during 1989 season, she earned MVP honors in four tournaments. She was nominated for Champion Products Player of the Year Award.

In her senior year, Gaby was selected to the Division III Kodak All-American Team, was named to the All-Tournament Team in the Northeast Regional Tournament, and was selected Winter Athlete of the Year by the Connecticut Sportswriter’s Alliance.

After graduating, Gaby played semi-professional basketball in Australia for the Connecticut Shooting Stars, and for the AAU Northeastern Storm.
