1996 Inductee Biographies

Mary Kehoe - High School Coach
From 1964 to 1976, Mary Kehoe recorded ten winning seasons for Brien McMahon High School. Four of these season, Kehoe's teams were undefeated. A pioneer in women's sports, Mary was presented the Award of Excellence by the city of Norwalk.

Judy Smith - Referee
A physical education teacher in Clinton, Judy Smith's reputation for excellence in officiating is linked to her firm belief that consistently good officiating was central to the success of girls' and women's basketball. Having earned her state and national ratings, Judy officiated throughout Connecticut from 1973 to 1982.

Barbara Abernethy - Honorary
A basketball player, coach, official, and athletic director, Barbara Abernethy is a living legend in the world of women's athletics. Abernethy was a pioneer and visionary determined to afford girls and women the opportunity to excel not only in basketball but also in every athletic arena.

Donna Fiedoriwiz – College Player
A 1980 graduate of Central Connecticut State University, Donna Fiedorowicz totaled 1,233 career points and was inducted into CCSU's Hall of Fame. Donna set records at Central not only for points scored, but also for rebounds, free throws, blocked shots, and steals.

Tracy Lis – High School Player
A 1988 graduate Of Killingly High School, Tracy Lis broke records and amassed honors before moving on to Providence College. Her career total of 3,681 points scored in high school play has yet to be matched.  All-Eastern, All-New England, All-State, and All-American, Tracy holds five National High School records.

Cathy Inglese – High School Player
A 1976 graduate Of Sheehan High School in Wallingford, Cathy Inglese led her team to the Class L State Championship her senior year. Named Sheehan's Outstanding Athlete, Inglese also garnered All - League and All - State honors.  Inglese then went on to excel at Southern Connecticut State University where she scored a career total 11,194 points.
