1994 Inductee Biographies

Edwina Qualls - High School Coach Inductee
Edwina Qualls coached girls' basketball at Lee High School in New Haven from 1969 to 1976 and compiled an 82-15 win/loss record. In 1975, Qualls' team won the CIAC Class L State Tournament, and Qualls was named the Connecticut High School Coaches' Association High School Basketball Coach of the Year

Joan Joyce - Referee Inductee
A member of the International Women's Sports Hall of Fame, Joan Joyce began her officiating career in 1959. Before finally retiring from officiating, Joyce had won recognition nation-wide as a referee for CIAC State Tournament play and for AIAW Women's College Tournament competition.

Mary Jane Hagan - Honorary Inductee
Mary Jane Hagan served the Stamford Public Schools as physical education teacher, assistant Coordinator and then coordinator of physical education, and as director. The hallmark of Hagan's career has been her achievement of sports' equity between boys and girls in the Stamford public school system.

Sue Crisafi - High School Player Inductee
Sue Crisafi is East Haven High School's all time leading scorer with 1,418 points in her four year career Crisafi earned All-Housatonic League, All -County, All-State, All-Star, and Tap-Off Club honors before graduating from East Haven High in 1980.

Karen Yarasavage - College Player Inductee
Twice named Ivy League Player of the Year, Karen Yarasavage lettered all four years at Yale University and led her team in scoring and rebounding. Yarasavage received honors as All Ivy League and as Division I Player of the Year.
